Kiwi Can👍

Yesterday we had our Kiwi Can session with Mr Numia and Mrs Tuia in room 11.

As we got to room 11 we got into a circle, and talked about what we were talking about last week which was Respect, so we talked about our Topic which was Respect for a little bit and then we said our Catchphrase which was "Kiwi said Respect this place, Treat it like your own, At the end of the day, It's where we call home". Then we got into our Activity which was one of the games we made up last week and the game we played was Crickbe, there was a fielding team and kicking team. After we played our Activity we went back to room 11 and we talked more about Respect and then we got into our points and we got.... 25..yay, so after we did the points we went back to class and it was lunch time.

At that Kiwi Can session i liked it because we played an activity from our own game and we also got 25 points.

Healthy Tiria Kai

Today, we had a Healthy Shared Lunch for the whole school at Glenbrae School. Room 8 pfepared a Rainbow 5 plus Salad that had Tomatoes, Red Onions, Carrots, Capsicum, Orange's, Green Apples and Lettuce in it.

The other Classes prepared Tuna Sandwhiches, Chicken Wrap, Fruit Kebab, Corn Fritters, Veges and Hummus, Pumpkin Soup with Bread and Rainbow Salad.

Some of our parents were also there. After the shared lunch, some of us helped with cleaning up the hall.

The best food I enjoyed was Chicken Wrap, Pumpkin Soup, Fruit Kebab, Corn Fritters, Tuna Sandwhiches and Rainbow Salad.

Science Intensive with Mrs Kay

This week on Wednesday Room 8 went to Room 9 for Science Intensive. In Room 9 we did all sorts of things and they were called Laser Reflection, Disco Ball and Light Refraction (lens) and my favourite one was the Disco Ball because when we on'd the torch to the necklace their was rainbow colours and that was so cool. I learnt that a rainbow comes when it is a sun shower then the rainbow comes out and that a prism breaks a simple beam of white light into several beams of light.

Late Mr Dudley was a volunteer for the St Andrew’s church. He  worked at our school for a few years as a helper at our breakfast club which operates every morning during school days. He worked on Thursdays helping with the  preparation  and serving of breakfast to the children who came to school without having breakfast.

His beautiful smile and all the kind things he said to us  just made my day and we all will  miss him alot. May the Lord Almighty rest his soul in Peace. Ka kite ano Mr Dudley.

Last week on Thursday the 25th of August a Cultural Festival was held by Glenbrae School.
Students picked some groups they wanted to take part in and their was also class items and i was only performing in the class item that's it but it was still fun because we got to watch the other groups perform their dances, and the groups i wanted to join was the

Fair Play and Code of Conduct

WALHT: Play fairly and behave on the playground.

This week we have been learning about fair play and how to behave on the playground.

What is Fair play?

Some of the things we have learned about

Fair play is are:

• Following the Rules of the game
• Respecting others
• Sharing and taking turns
• Working together as a team
• Communicating and solving problems in a peaceful way
• Make sure no one is left out
• Being honest
• Giving off your best while playing
• Being a Good Winner and a Good Loser

I feel that this netball-er has the qualities of a fair player and she conducts herself very well on the playground.

How I Would Funraise

How I Would Funraise

It is very expensive for the Paralympics athletes to fly to the Olympics so I have thought of some ways you can fundraise.

1. First I would do a Sausage sizzle or other common food or drinks like lemonade.

2. Second I would organize entertainment like Dancing.

So that's how I would Funraise.

Which famous athlete would you meet

Which famous athlete would you meet.

There are a lot of athlete's out there that I really want to meet but I can only meet one of them and that one is Lauren Boyle. There are 2 reasons why I like her.

First I chose her because I would really like to see what's it like to you know win a gold medal or being the champion and I would ask her to give me some lessons on how to swim because I'm not a good swimmer.

Second of all I would really love to ask her lots of questions like how much medals have you won questions like that.

So that's why I want to meet Lauren Boyle.

Youngest Olympian to win a Gold Medal

The youngest person to ever win a Gold Medal is Marjorie Gestring. She won a Gold Medal in spring board diving.

If I was alive in 1963 and I was interviewing her I would ask her.

• Who taught you how to dive.
• How did you feel when you won the Gold Medal.
• Why did you chose this sport.
• Did anybody else in your family compete in the Olympics.

Lets just say I worked for TVNZ and they paid me so I could go to Rio De Janeiro Olympics and report on golf or rugby. So I wrote a poem on how it feel like to travel to Rio.

Valerie Adams

Valerie has been the dominant women's shot putter in the world since 2006, only beaten twice in major world events during that period and having an unprecedented winning streak of 56 competitions between 2010 and 2014. She was the IAAF world female athlete of the year for 2014.

Facts

Valerie Adams has a brother who is a Basketball player and he now Oklahoma City basketball team. Valerie Adams full name is Valerie Kasanita Adams and she is a shot putter and she is a four time champion 3 time world in door champion two time Olympic and three time commonwealth champion. Valerie Adams has two siblings and her birthday is on October the 6th.
Before Valerie Adams became famous she won her first world youth championship gold medal at the age of 17.
 Valerie Adams associated with one of her country's most dominate shot putters much like her English male, counterpart.

Olympics - Archery

Archery is an Olympic Sport where you shoot with a Bow and Arrow at a Target. The aim of the game is to shoot an arrow to a target from a distance that is given. 3 people can compete in the sport and the main rules are:
1. An archer has 40 seconds to shoot with each of their six arrows at a target. In the finals, an archer has 20 seconds to shoot each of their three arrows at a target.

2. Scores on the target range from 10 for a bull's eye to one for the outer ring. Competitors with the best scores after 72 arrows go through to the next stage.

1. The best uniform I like the most is 2012's team because it's black and white and that is new Zealand colours and the only thing I hate about the uniforms is the polka dots on the girls dressers but other than that this was the best.



2. The second uniform I liked was 2004's uniform because I like the ferns on it and I just think it needed more white in it because there's more black then white and tbh the only white think on the uniforms is the white fern.



3. Last but not least 2008's uniform I kind of like their uniform the only thing I like about the uniform is the fern because it is black and white but they should of made the t-shirt white and  the silver fern black but who cares it's their uniform not mine.
