Kiwi sport - Gymnastics
For over the past 5 weeks including today, Room 7 had gymnastics with coach Ethan. Gymnastics helped us to improve on our skills and helped many students be more confident when doing a specific activity. Today was our last day of gymnastics, we firstly warmed up by running around the hall 10 times then went straight off to begin our lesson. We all lined up in front of a mat and challenged for the silver and gold medal. The first activity high jump, we had to run up and jump our highest ending in the landing position and Ethan wrote down our score. We then did other challenging activities and ended it off with trying to jump the furthest. After, he tallied our scores then handed us the medal bracelet.
I really enjoyed having gymnastics with coach Ethan because I learnt many new things and it helped me to improve on my confidence.

Science Intensive - Room 9
Today for Science Intensive room 7 and I did stage makeup painting with Miss Smith. We learnt what makeup artists use to do stage makeup, we watched a short video of a makeup artist painting a lion on her face and once she was done it looked very realistic. We sketched out an original photo from the internet or of or own then went to the art room and started painting. Once we were done painting we left it to dry. After morning tea we went back to the art room and went over it with another layer then finished it off.
I really enjoyed Science Intensive with Miss Smith because I learned a lot and it could be very useful in the future.

Term3 - Kiwi Sport
Tuesday 2nd of August
Today room 7 had kiwi sport with a new coach named Ethan. We firstly started off with a warm up game called Balance. We had to run around the hall and whenever he said stop he would tell us a position to go into and we had to our best to balance. After the warm up game he told us to find a spot anywhere and sit down, we did the five stretches pike, butterfly, L, front position, and back position. After we did the stretches he demonstrated what to do at the nine activities we were about to attend, he then split us into groups of three and two then we went and started off with the activities. After the activities we went and put our shoes back on then went back to class.

Figure It Out - Size Wise
Today we did a Figure It out book. The most challenging question was Problem Three where we had to figure out how long it would take Franke to catch the bus to and from school. Problem: Frank either walks to school and catches the bus home or catches the bus to and walks home. Both ways, it takes him 1 1/2 hour to travel to and from school. If he were to walk to and from school, how long would it take him?

Decimal Fractions
1). 0.25 = 2/10 - 5/100
2). 0.072 = 7/10 - 2/100
3). 0.290 = 2/10 - 9/100
4). 1.029 = 10/10 - 2/100 - 9/1000
5). 1.029 = 10/10 - 2/100 - 9/1000

8/1000 1/10 1/10 5/1000 1/10
2/100 5/100 8/100
5/1000 5/1000
8/1000 + 5/1000 + 5/1000 + 5/1000 = 0.023
2/100 + 5/100 + 8/100 = 0.15
1/10 + 1/10 + 1/10 = 0.3
0.023 + 0.15 +0.3 = 0.473 - 4 Tenths, 7 Hundredths, 3 Thousands
